By the end of this afternoon, you’ll leave with a clearer sense of what your body needs this time of year: how to cook with herbs instinctively, how to balance warmth and lightness, and how to eat in a way that feels steady, energized, and calm instead of heavy or depleted.

Join us for A Spring Afternoon: Ayurveda in Practice, the spring gathering in our seasonal series with Ayurveda practitioner Rita Murti and chef + cultural host Angie Farid of Sofret Zozo.

This is not a lecture or a demonstration. It’s an immersive, hands-on afternoon built around how we actually live with food — cooking together, tasting as we go, and learning through experience how herbs, citrus, gentle sweetness, and warming spices support digestion and energy as the season shifts.

For those who don’t know her, Rita Murti is a yoga practitioner, physical therapist, Ayurveda practitioner, and longtime retreat leader currently deep in her herbal studies and certification work. Her approach is grounded, thoughtful, and deeply practical — rooted in everyday rhythm rather than theory. She also happens to be one of my closest friends, which makes this collaboration feel especially natural and alive.

Together we’ll move slowly through the afternoon — beginning with tea, working with fresh herbs, cooking a seasonal meal, and gathering around the table to eat in a way that feels nourishing but light.

You’ll leave with:
• a clearer understanding of how easily to incorporate cleansing foods for spring
• practical ways to use herbs confidently at home
• a deeper awareness of digestion and balance
• and the feeling of having spent an afternoon exactly as it should be spent
