Meet Erin Carroll Reddan, founder of ECR Vintners, who believes wine should be enjoyed, not performed. Erin makes beautiful small-batch California wines and has a wonderfully un-snobby way of teaching you what to pour, how much to buy, what works with what, and what actually matters when it comes to wine.

And Anne-Marie Pietersma, Certified Cheese Professional®, founder of Trust Your Taste and author of the brilliantly named I’ll Have What Cheese Having. She grew up in a Southern California dairy family and has turned cheese education into something that is equal parts delicious, smart and seriously fun.

And then there’s me. I’ll be tackling the part I care about most: how you turn all of it into a party.

We’ll taste our way through wine and cheese while talking about:

• Choosing and pairing wine without memorizing a million rules
• Building a beautiful cheese board and knowing how much to actually buy
• What to prep ahead so you aren’t cooking when the doorbell rings
• Setting up your space so guests know exactly where to go
• Creating abundance without creating chaos
• The little tools, shortcuts and hosting tricks that make life easier
• And what to do with all that open wine and leftover cheese once everybody finally goes home

But this isn’t school-school.

There will be wine.
There will be cheese.
There will be plenty of mingling.
There will be new ladies to meet.
There will be laughing.
And there will be shopping.

I’ll be turning my bar into a little Holiday Hostess Shop, filled with books, some of my favorite entertaining finds, and special pieces I’ve brought home from Egypt — plus a few surprises from local makers.

Come hungry, come thirsty, come by yourself or bring a friend.

You’ll leave a little more confident, a little more inspired, and very ready to have people over for the holidays.
